Ride a Trolley
A very special attraction of the Nordbahntrasse is the trolley track at Loh. The working group "Railway History" of the WUPPERTALBEWEGUNG built and operates it for 11 years on a voluntary basis at the old station Wuppertal-Loh, Rudolfstraße 125, between Buchenstraße and the siding towards Clausen. It has already taken more than 10,000 visitors on a journey along the 1.6 km long trolley route on former tracks of the Rheinische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft.
Here at the station, which has been preserved in its traditional form with station building and platform canopy, railroad history comes alive. Passengers, like the switchmen in the past, have the opportunity to set two switches by hand lever in order to change tracks with the trolley.
The trolley runs every weekend during the summer months on Sundays between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. from Loh train station, platform 3. In case of bad weather, the service will be suspended.
